In August, 2008 our friends' son, Emil Harizanov, was left paralyzed after a horrific diving accident in the Black Sea.

Emil, a gifted 22-year-old sculpture student, required an operation on his shattered fifth vertebra followed by daily rehabilitation. So far, he has regained only partial movement in his shoulder and elbow joints. His parents are currently negotiating treatment with some leading European hospitals where more advanced technology may help their son recover completely.

Please help Emil's family meet the cost of his medical bills, which are devastating given that country's current economic woes. A few minutes of your time and a small amount of money can make a huge difference for Emil and his family. Emil is hopeful that he will be able to thank everyone personally as soon as he regains the ability to write.
